1.Information received indicates that Rashtriya Swyamesevak Sangha (RSS), Dakshin Banga, Keshav Bhawan, 9A, Abhedananda Road, Kolkata 6 will hold a meeting at Raja Subodh Mallick Square, Kolkata from 14.00 hours to 17.00 hours on 10.11.2010.
2.It is learnt that the West Bengal State Committee of Beedi Workers and Employees Federation of India (SUCI) has decided to organize a MASS MEETING at Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Kolkata at about 13.30 hours on 10.11.2010 in support of their charter of demands including payment of all arear pays, payment of Bonus, increase of minimum wages for the Beedi Workers, issuance of identity card for the Beedi Workers, social security for the workers working at Beedi Industry, etc. Earlier, at about 13.00 hours on the day (i.e. 10.11.2010) the organizers will take out a procession from Raja Subodh Mullick Square which will move along Nirmal Chandra Street Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road S.N. Banerjee Road Dorina crossing and will finally terminae at Rani Rashmoni Avenue. During the said programme the organizers will insist upon sending a deputation to H.E. Governor of West Bengal and Anadi Sahoo, MIC, W.B. to submit a memorandum containing their demands.

On 07.11.10 at about 21.15hrs the accused person being the driver of an unknown taxi drove the same in rash and negligent manner endangering human life and safety to others and dashed Madhusudan Ghosh (70) s/o Lt. Asamay Ghosh of 19A, Shib Sankar Mallick Lane, Kolkata-4 in front of Central Bank of India at 11, Bhupen Bose Avenue, Kolkata-4. As a result of which he received injury on his person and he was admitted at R.G.Kar Hospital on 08.11.10. None was arrested.
KARAYA PS
The case was recorded as a suo motto one against the unknown driver of TATA-407 goods carriage bearing registration No- WB-41E-0849. The case is to the effect that on 08/11/2010 at about 23.20hrs, the above noted accused person, who was carrying a number of people on its rear, who were returning after Kali Puja immersion, drove the same in a rash and negligent manner at a very high speed along the eastern flank of Syed Amir Ali Avenue from North to South and got overturned near the crossing of Syed Amir Ali Avenue and Congress Exhibition Rd. Due to which at least 15 persons or more on board sustained grievous and minor injuries on their persons for which they were removed to C.N.M.C and Hospital, where they underwent treatment. The vehicle was also significantly damaged.
HASTINGS PS
On 08.11.10 the driver of the vehicle No.WB41C 4286 drove his vehicle along K.P. Road in a rash and negligent manner and at about 22.00 hrs, dashed one street beggar under the flyover nearer to Sayeed Baba Mazar. As a result he received injury on his person and was removed to SNP Hospital where he got admitted. The driver of the offending vehicle was arrested. |
