Web Ratna Awards: The Indian Government encourages the ICT-led development in the country. In order to promote more and more innovative e-governance initiatives and to give due recognition to the exemplary efforts in this direction, the Web Ratna Awards have been instituted under the ambit of the National Portal of India, india.gov.in.
The portal provided detailed information on the first ever Web Ratna Awards presented at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on the 19th of April, 2010.
Commonwealth Games, Delhi 2010: Delhi hosted the 19th Commonwealth Games in October 2010. It was the first big multi-sport event to be hosted by India in almost three decades. We showcased information about the main events and other traditions around the Games to keep people updated.
Know India: This section focuses on India's main features and achievements. New topics and updates based on India Book 2010 have been added to the Know India module.
States and Union Territories: The section introduces the 28 States and 7 Union Territories in the country and explores their magnificent uniqueness. New and up-to-date information has been compiled for Tripura and Orissa etc providing detailed information about the unique demography, history, culture, festivals, language, etc., of the states.
News Updates: As a part of our constant endeavour to keep you updated on all current affairs, we revamped our News platform. Our next spotlight is on the Right to Education Act. Education is a fundamental human right, which lays the foundation for development in the society. Towards this end, the Indian Parliament has enacted the Right to Education Act which provides for free and compulsory education to all children in the age group of six to 14 years.
