Preparation of Budget Estimates 2011-2012; Instructions issued

In Circular No.71/2010/Fin dated 27/07/2010 Government have issued instructions for the preparation of Budget Estimates 2011-2012. As per the circular, the Annual Budget of the State Government for the financial year 2011-12 will be presented to the Legislature during the last quarter of the current financial year. To achieve this objective, the process of formulation of Budget Estimates for 2011-12 will have to be completed sufficiently early. In this connection, attention of all the Heads of Departments and other Estimating Officers is invited to paragraph 31 of the Kerala Budget Manual and they are requested to take immediate steps for the formulation of the Budget Estimates for 2011-2012. The following dates have been fixed for the receipt of the Budget Estimates for 2011-2012 in Finance Department.

• Non-Plan Expenditure : Not later than 30th September, 2010
• Plan Expenditure : Not later than 31st October, 2010
• Revenue and Other Receipts : Not later than 31st October, 2010

The estimates should be sent to the Finance Department direct with a copy to the Administrative Department. The Administrative Department should forward their comments on the estimates to the Finance Department within ten days of the date of receipt of the estimates.
