Akbar (Urdu): In Mughal history, Emperor Akbar's name shines like a star. He was a great soldier, skillful administrator and successful politician as well as social and religious reformer. It was due to his efforts that the country became one entity. About 450 years ago Akbar tried to unite Hindus and Muslims as one and set an example of religious patience. His attempt to end religious discrimination was a commendable task in that century. This book reveals Akbar's greatness in various aspects.

Greetings

Greetings: Celebrations become dearer when we share our heartfelt feelings with our loved ones; so share and celebrate with our E-cards.

Independence Day: India's Independence Day on 15th August, celebrates its independence from British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation on that day in 1947. All over the country, flag-hoisting ceremonies are conducted by the local administration. The main event takes place in New Delhi, where the Prime Minister hoists the National Flag at the Red Fort and delivers a nationally televised speech from its ramparts.

Raksha Bandhan: 'Raksha Bandhan' or 'Rakhi' is a special occasion to celebrate the bonding between a brother and a sister. This unique bond of love and affection is celebrated by the tying of a Rakhi or holy thread by the sister around the wrist of her brother. Sisters pray for their brothers' long life. Brothers, in turn, give them gifts and vow to protect and care for them throughout life.

Onam: Onam is the most important festival of Kerala. It is the harvest festival of the state and falls in the month of Chingam (August-September). There are several legends regarding its origin. The most popular legend is that Mahabali, the legendary king who ruled over Kerala in an age of plenty and was pushed down to the infernal regions by Lord Vishnu in the form of Vamana, returns to see his people once a year.
